Unknown assailants killed a young Atlanta man during an attempted carjacking in the parking lot of his own apartment. Criminals targeted the community because of a broken front gate and poor lighting, and management had failed to properly warn tenants about previous incidents of violent crime. The primary insurance provider claimed that the deadly incident didn’t fall under the terms of their policy. We convinced a judge that, legally, the insurance company was liable for the claim, and the court issued a declaratory judgment action. As a result, we were able to recover a significant settlement on behalf of the young man’s family.
